Ikuspegi honek, ia karratua, tonu urdinxkako itsaso lasaia erakusten du, mendi berdeen kostaldeko profila irudikatzen duen hondoaren gainean. Lehen planoan, txalupa bat bakarti dabil, eta antzara batek jakin-minez begiratzen dio, eszenaren arreta gune bihurtuz. Argi meheak eta xehetasun sinpleek (txalupa abandonatuak, hegazti zaintzaileak...) lasaitasun eta geldialdi sentsazioa transmititzen dute. Hondoko mendien formei erreparatuta, esan dezakegu inguru hori Urdaibairi dagokiola, Busturiatik ikusita. Izan ere, herri horretan bizi zen artista, eta haren obraren zati handi baten kokaleku izan zen.

Esta vista, de formato casi cuadrado, muestra un mar tranquilo de tonos azulados, sobre un fondo en el que se representa un perfil costero de montañas verdes. En primer plano, una barca flota solitaria, mientras un ganso la observa con curiosidad, convirtiéndose en el centro de atención de la escena. La luz tenue y los detalles simples (la barca abandonada, el ave vigilante...) transmiten una sensación de quietud y tiempo detenido. Por las formas de los montes del fondo, podemos identificar que el entorno evocado corresponde a Urdaibai, visto desde Busturia, localidad en la que el artista tenía su residencia y que fue escenario de una parte importante de su obra.

In the foreground, a boat floats alone, while a goose watches it curiously, becoming the center of attention. The dim light and simple details (the abandoned boat, the watchful bird...) convey a sense of stillness and frozen time. From the shapes of the mountains in the background, we can identify that the evoked setting corresponds to Urdaibai, as seen from Busturia, the town where the artist lived and which was the setting for a significant portion of his work.
