Eszenan ikusten da nola Juditek burua mozten dion Holofernesi, Itun Zaharrean deskribatzen den bezala. (Judit, 13: 1-11). Ekintza gauean gertatzen da. La escena desarrolla el degollamiento del general asirio Holofernes por parte de Judit, descrito en el libro de su nombre (Judit, 13:1-11). La acción tiene lugar durante la noche. The scene depicts the beheading of the Assyrian general Holofernes by Judith, described in the book of her name (Judith 13:1-11). The action takes place at night. The heroine, dressed in a red tunic, cuts off Holofernes',s head with a knife, but he awakens only briefly from his intoxication due to the attack. His naked, muscular body writhes helplessly in a forced foreshortened position. Behind them, the servant girl gazes up at the waning moon. Above the three main figures, a group of four putti descends from the sky.
